Refurbishing our Laboratory for Quality and Capacity
In 2024, we proudly launched Lab B, a fully refurbished laboratory equipped for pharmaceutical-grade manufacture. This upgrade has doubled our production capacity, enabling us to meet increasing demand in the high-standard pharma market.
With our enhanced capabilities, we have put in place rigorous auditing processes, ensuring quality and consistency in our chemical production. The improved facility places Vickers in a prime position to grow while maintaining the exceptional standards our clients expect.
Embracing Solar Energy through Innovation
This year, one of our pivotal innovations has been the launch of our live solar monitoring program using the advanced Fronius Solar.web platform. This tool gives us real-time insights into energy production and consumption, significantly reducing our reliance on traditional energy sources.
We have also set plans in motion to introduce battery storage at Vickers to capture excess solar energy. This enhancement will increase our renewable energy utilisation by storing power for low-supply periods.
Promoting Carbon Literacy Across the Organisation
This year, Vickers completed Carbon Literacy training. This initiative is key to promoting understanding and action around carbon footprint reduction within our organisation. Our ‘Green Team’ meet regularly to generate and implement actionable sustainability measures across departments.
Welcoming New Talent
This year, we have welcomed several new team members across departments. Bringing in fresh talent has been invaluable as we push forward with our innovation journey. Our new starters include Adam – Despatch Operator, Holly – QC Laboratory Analyst, Jordan– Despatch Operator, Claire – Customer Service and Sales Advisor, Craig - ERP Business Systems Analyst and our Laboratory Technician Lucy has taken on a new role as Quality Technician. We wish them all the best in their new roles.
Supporting the Community
Our team’s charitable involvement has broadened in 2024 with Vickers supporting a range of charities. Through fundraising, volunteering, and hosting sponsored events, we aim to make a meaningful difference.
