A visit from the West Yorkshire Fire Service
We recently welcomed the West Yorkshire Fire Service on site to conduct a comprehensive chemical spillage exercise. The visit was not only educational but also a crucial part of our ongoing commitment to health and safety protocols.
The simulation allowed the fire service to test their response procedures and equipment in a controlled environment to better prepare for any potential future emergencies.
The day began with a briefing from the fire service team, who explained the objectives and procedures of the exercise.
The scenario then involved a simulated chemical spill, designed to be realistic with the fire service using actual equipment and techniques they would use in a real-life situation. This included the use of protective gear, containment strategies and decontamination processes.
A Hazmat (Hazardous Materials) specialist was also present to provide expert advice and oversight throughout the exercise. Following the training, the team had a debrief session to review their performance and identify any areas for improvement.
We appreciate the time taken by the West Yorkshire Fire Service and look forward to continuing our collaboration to enhance our safety practices.
