Vickers Improve Pack Down and NVP Offering
Due to increased demand in the pack down sector, the team at Vickers took the strategic decision to improve some of its core capabilities in solids and liquids packing. As a result of a requested audit, Vickers have invested in a purpose built, bespoke flammable vault to provide a more efficient service to this sector.
Also, due to the continued increase in overseas demand for their NVP product, which is used in the manufacture of silicon hydrogel lenses, Vickers have invested in two more units to cope with this expanding level of business.
The aim by the end of the year is to build two further warehouse units where Vickers can hold more stock for their customers and continue to provide an exceptional service level. The current storage space can then be dedicated to manufacturing their extensive product range and increasing their capabilities.
Having recently recruited four new members of staff in Operations, one new Laboratory Technician and one new member of the Customer Service Team, training and development is of paramount importance to the company. This will help provide the very best level of service for their ever-expanding customer base. Alongside this recruitment drive Vickers have extended the working day to incorporate a two-shift system catering for increased demand.
In all areas of Vickers’ expansion, the key is striking the right balance between consolidating what their business is already good at and looking to raise the bar.
A key number of decisions, techniques, and strategies have been deployed to facilitate future expansion of our high-quality services.
“The key principles and values that are integral to Vickers Laboratories have not changed despite seeing a substantial amount of growth.” Steve Foster, the Managing Director of Vickers, commented: “We are doing the right thing by our customers, trying to do it as well as we can, offering a premium first class service above all else.’
