Vic Labs help apprentices experience the world of Process Manufacturing
Vickers Laboratories have recently donated equipment to the newly opened Process Manufacturing Centre at Kirklees College in Huddersfield, helping to boost the education of those attending the centre.
The Process Manufacturing Centre (PMC) is an employer led training centre aimed for use by those interested in entering the process manufacturing industries. The centre opened in August 2016, and will provide a new training facility, a chemistry laboratory, as well as IT and learning resources.
The centre has been designed to emulate real life working conditions to compliment the science based apprenticeship schemes. Learners will experience scenarios in real time with a fully operational plant to enhance the training experience.
Vickers are proud to support the project with the donation of vessel equipment to help educate the next generation of product manufacturers and to contribute towards a network hub for the process industry. With the huge demand for skills in the engineering sector, this initiative is set to help equip young people with all the skills they need for the future.
