Prioritising Solar Energy
Since 2014, Vickers has utilised solar energy by installing solar panels on the roof of our main site. These panels have significantly reduced our reliance on non-renewable energy sources. But we're not stopping there. We're currently in the process of upgrading these panels to further increase our energy efficiency. Additionally, we have an ongoing project to install solar panels at our second site. This expansion will further our commitment to renewable energy and contribute to reducing our carbon footprint.
Driving Towards Sustainability
Our commitment to sustainability extends beyond our buildings. We've invested in electric company cars and installed charging points on our premises. This initiative not only reduces our greenhouse gas emissions but also encourages our employees to adopt cleaner transportation methods. Energy-Efficient Lighting
In our ongoing effort to reduce energy consumption, we are gradually replacing fluorescent bulbs with LED bulbs throughout our factory. LED bulbs are more energy-efficient and have a longer lifespan, which means we consume less energy and generate less waste. This small but significant change is part of our broader strategy to create a more sustainable and eco-friendly workplace.
Upgrading Heating Systems for Better Efficiency
Heating is another area where we're making strides towards sustainability. We are in the process of replacing our traditional gas heaters with energy-efficient infrared heaters in our factory. Infrared heaters provide efficient, targeted heating, which reduces overall energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions. This change not only benefits the environment but also improves the comfort and safety of our workspaces.
