Vickers Laboratories Expand Laboratory and Operations Team

Vickers Labs are pleased to welcome Tom Bamford and Kerry Cooke to the business, who have recently joined the Laboratory team and the Operations team respectively.

As part of their plans for 2017, the Vickers management team are looking to grow the business by expanding with individuals who will bring great strength to the company.

The first of what is sure to be many new additions as Vickers Laboratories grows throughout the year is Tom Bamford. Tom has taken on the role of Analytical Technician within the Laboratory department, and has already made a great start to the role. With a Master’s Degree in Chemistry, Tom is looking forward to putting his knowledge and past experience into practice. His previous experience includes employment in the industry, as well as a year of research in the chemical field as part of his Master’s Degree.

Drawing on interpersonal skills gained from this previous employment and his year of research, Tom hopes to develop his skills further and gain more experience in a practical laboratory team environment. He is looking forward to exploring the possibilities that lie ahead for him while working with the Vic Labs team.

Outside of work, Tom is a keen music fan and is also currently learning how to play the guitar.

“I am delighted to come to Vickers, as I feel the company can provide me with an exciting and insightful solid grounding in the chemical industry.” Said Tom, “There seems to always be a varied and fast paced workload, and I’m looking forward to putting my skills into practice.”

The second individual joining the Vickers team is Kerry Cooke, who has taken on the role of Process Operator in the Manufacturing Department. Upon joining the team, Kerry hopes to put his knowledge and experience gained from his Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry into practice.

Kerry is eager to gain as much experience working with chemicals across different markets and putting his academic knowledge into context in a business environment. Kerry has made a lasting impression, and is already a valuable member of the operations team.

In his spare time Kerry enjoys sport, with a keen interest in tennis, athletics and football.

“I am really enjoying the role, and during my time here I have learnt a lot already.” Said Kerry, “When the opportunity became available to be part of an organisation that has such a diverse range of opportunities and markets to grow in, I did not hesitate.”
